Juices/Smoothies For A Healthy & Cheap Diet On A Budget

Eating fresh fruits and veggies is one of the keys to a healthy lifestyle. A great way to make sure you get your daily serving in is to make fresh juices.

However, having good fresh options for your juices all year round can be hard. When foods are out of season their prices can be very high, and freshly frozen store bought produce can also be expensive.

Also, if you buy in bulk to save money, a lot of fresh produce gets wasted. But you can save a lot of money by buying in bulk and freezing your produce yourself!

All you need is a blender, some ice cube trays, and whatever veggies you want to prep for your juice. I chose a big bag of kale.

I also use the same ice cube tray method to freeze Greek Yogurt for a base when making smoothies.



To freeze fruits you need a flat plate or tray. Arrange the pieces of washed and dried fruit in a single layer and freeze.

Once all your fruits and veggies are frozen you can transfer them to ziplock bags for easier storage. If you freeze things in a bag first it will be hard to separate what you need per serving.

An added bonus, if you like thick, frosty juices, using frozen ingredients will give that result without needing to add extra ice that can water your drink down.

Juicing is super healthy, but can be really inconvenient at times. This process makes it so much easier!
